What is it? The UKC Rotary Club provides scholarship opportunities for local students to attend 2-year college, 4-year college, and many vocational or technical training schools (example: Perry Tech in Yakima, Walla Walla Community College (cosmetology/AA degree) or Northwest Lineman School). Rotary also works with Central Washington University and the Hein Legacy Foundation to provide substantial multi-year scholarships to CWU. Scholarships range in duration from one to four years and in amounts from $500 to $20,000.
For Whom? All students attending Cle Elum-Roslyn, Easton and other Upper Kittitas County high school programs, including home-school programs, are eligible and encouraged to apply.
How to Apply? Cle Elum-Roslyn seniors please contact your scholarship advisors and use the general scholarship application. All other applicants may use the Cle Elum-Roslyn general application format by going to the high school and meeting with the scholarship counselors. Application Requirements
- Be on track to receive a High School Diploma or a General Equivalency Degree (GED).
- A cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) that makes you eligible for graduation.
- Attend a UKC Rotary Meeting by March 20. (for more information see below)
- Submit Application Form and all required items: transcript; essays; service activities; extracurricular activities; future plans, objective(s) and goals; financial needs and plan; and letter of recommendation.
- All submitted material must be the applicant’s own work.
- All seniors using the high school general application format must turn in application by April 22, 2026. Any other students, if not using the general application format, must Mail an application to Rotary Club of Upper Kittitas County, PO Box 1035, Cle Elum, WA 98922, postmarked by April 22, 2026.
UKC Rotary Scholarship Applicants who meet all requirements must attend a UKC Rotary Club either virtually or in person by April 22, 2026. Meetings are Wednesday at 7:00 AM. Please contact us to schedule your attendance and for any assistance with transportation. You will be notified of the location when you schedule your visit. Attendance is designed to give Rotary members a chance to meet you and have an informal time to talk. At the meeting, you will have an opportunity to give the Club a brief overview of what your plans, objectives, and goals are for the future. Since Rotary is primarily a service organization, you may also speak about what service work (formal and/or informal) you have been a part of for the past four years. Not everyone can attend on the same day, so schedule your attendance as soon as you decide to become an applicant.
